About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to focus on maintenance, finding, and fixing bugs within our customer-facing web application and internal tools without building new features.

What You Will Do

• Resolve bugs end-to-end by reproducing issues, uncovering root causes, writing fixes, and verifying them in production
• Navigate and troubleshoot older codebases including .NET/C#, SQL, server-rendered templates, jQuery, and React
• Maintain clear Jira tickets documenting reproduction steps, root causes, and verification methods
• Collaborate with ticket submitters to clarify ambiguous bug reports and gather necessary logs or context
• Submit focused pull requests that adhere to existing patterns and minimize risk
• Manage and prioritize an independent ticket queue autonomously

What You Need

• At least 4 years of experience in software development, application support, or Tier 3 technical support involving debugging and coding
• Backend proficiency in reading and debugging C# using ASP.NET MVC or ASP.NET Core applications
• Frontend capability with React, JavaScript/TypeScript, legacy jQuery, and Razor templates
• Solid SQL skills, preferably in SQL Server or PostgreSQL, for investigation and ORM understanding
• Familiarity with Git branching, pull requests, code reviews, and git history analysis
• Strong organizational skills, accountability, and written communication abilities

Work Arrangement

• Contract role based in Colombo
