About the Role

PetDesk is seeking a skilled Senior DevOps Engineer to help manage and scale cloud infrastructure in an AWS environment. This contract role focuses on expanding infrastructure capacity, ensuring high availability, and supporting engineering teams as system complexity increases.

What You Will Do

• Architect, implement, and maintain scalable cloud infrastructure in AWS environments following best practices for security, performance, costs, and reliability
• Implement and manage Kubernetes clusters using Amazon EKS, including node groups, networking, autoscaling, and observability
• Use Terraform for Infrastructure-as-Code to build reusable, modular, and version-controlled infrastructure
• Build, maintain, and optimize CI/CD pipelines utilizing Jenkins and ArgoCD
• Set up and maintain observability and monitoring tools like Datadog and CloudWatch to ensure reliable product service
• Automate deployment processes, environment provisioning, and configuration management to reduce manual toil
• Ensure high availability, resilience, and disaster recovery for critical systems while participating in on-call rotations
• Collaborate closely with software engineering and support teams to streamline deployments and improve development workflows

What You Need

• Minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience in DevOps, SRE, or Platform Engineering
• Strong working knowledge of AWS services such as EC2, EKS, RDS, S3, IAM, ECS, VPC, and Lambda
• Proven experience with Kubernetes, specifically Amazon EKS, and containerization technologies
• Proficiency with Terraform for Infrastructure-as-Code management
• Experience writing scripts in Python and Bash
• Advanced expertise in building and maintaining Jenkins pipelines
• Solid foundation in Linux systems, networking fundamentals, and distributed architectures
• Familiarity with Git version control workflows and code review practices
• Excellent troubleshooting, incident response, and root cause analysis skills

Work Arrangement

• Contract engagement based in Colombo
