About the Role

An experienced security operations engineer is sought on a three-month contract to run the annual PCI DSS compliance cycle to completion for a cloud-hosted payment platform.

What You Will Do

• Implement and verify technical controls across the cardholder data environment including access management, secure configuration, logging, monitoring, and key management.
• Deploy logging and monitoring requirements to v4.0.1 standards, working alongside the DevOps engineer on the rollout of the Wazuh SIEM and host intrusion detection platform.
• Complete SAQ D for Service Providers, assemble supporting evidence, and maintain network and dataflow diagrams as well as compliance documentation.
• Manage an Approved Scanning Vendor for quarterly external vulnerability scans and coordinate penetration testing with a qualified independent provider.
• Own the delivery plan, schedule, dependencies, risk log, and weekly reporting to leadership while strengthening change management practices.

What You Need

• Demonstrable experience taking an organisation through PCI DSS compliance, including working knowledge of v4.0.1.
• Hands-on AWS security engineering experience or equivalent public cloud depth in IAM, network segmentation, and secrets management.
• Practical experience with SIEM or centralised log platforms such as Wazuh, OSSEC, Elastic Security, or Graylog.
• Strong practical background in vulnerability management, logging and monitoring, and access management.
• Excellent written English and the ability to independently plan, track, report, and escalate without an assigned project manager.
