About the Role

Axiata Digital Labs is looking for a skilled professional to drive the creation and scaling of advanced artificial intelligence and machine learning solutions over a 12-month period.

What You Will Do

• Lead the end-to-end lifecycle of machine learning, deep learning, and generative AI models from ingestion to retraining
• Design and implement Generative AI and Agentic AI systems featuring autonomous workflows and prompt engineering
• Collaborate with engineering, product, QA, and DevOps teams to deliver robust AI solutions
• Mentor data scientists and machine learning engineers while maintaining high code quality and compliance standards
• Integrate modern AI platforms, vector databases, and cloud-native services into organizational architectures

What You Need

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, Mathematics, or a related discipline
• Four to five years of professional experience working with data science and AI in production environments
• Proficiency in Python along with frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, and Scikit-learn
• Practical background in Large Language Models, RAG pipelines, fine-tuning, and agentic multi-agent systems
• Strong knowledge of MLOps, LLMOps, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), and data engineering fundamentals
• Excellent leadership, architectural thinking, and communication skills

Work Arrangement

• 12-month contractor engagement based in Colombo, Sri Lanka
