About the Role

Médecins Sans Frontières India is offering an internship opportunity within its South Asia Communications Department based in Colombo. This role provides practical exposure to regional media relations, press outreach, and humanitarian communications, supporting the organisation's visibility and advocacy efforts.

What You Will Do

• Monitor regional media coverage across South Asia regarding humanitarian emergencies, public health issues, and operational developments
• Research media trends, outlets, and journalists to identify proactive engagement opportunities
• Support the preparation and dissemination of press releases, media pitches, alerts, and journalist correspondence
• Maintain regional media contact lists, journalist profiles, media trackers, and comprehensive coverage records
• Compile and analyse media coverage to contribute to regional reports, summaries, and communications updates

What You Need

• Completed or currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Communications, Journalism, Media Studies, International Relations, or a related field
• Strong interest in humanitarian issues, current affairs, and media reporting
• Excellent research, writing, editing, and analytical skills with high attention to detail
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and familiarity with digital news platforms and media monitoring tools
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and work collaboratively
• Fluency in English

Work Arrangement

• Internship position with a hybrid setup featuring 25% work from home
• Weekdays, Monday to Friday, from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM
• Located at MSF South Asia HQ, M2M VERANDA Offices, 34, W A D Ramanayake Mawatha, Colombo 02
• Internship allowance of LKR 2,500/- per day worked, with free lunch and accident insurance provided
