About the Role

dijital-team-pty-ltd is seeking an experienced Financial Controller to oversee month-end financial reporting and quality assurance for a portfolio of Australian business clients. In this review-focused position, you will ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial records while collaborating with the CFO and a local development team to improve automated finance workflows.

What You Will Do

• Review and validate month-end financial close activities across Australian client accounts, examining reconciliations, journals, accruals, and balance sheets.
• Identify inconsistencies, financial discrepancies, and potential reporting issues to ensure appropriate corrective actions.
• Provide an independent second-level review of client financial records to maintain robust financial controls and reporting quality.
• Review management reports and prepare insightful written commentary explaining financial performance and key movements.
• Review payment runs for accuracy and completeness prior to client authorization.
• Collaborate with the Sri Lanka-based software development team to enhance automated accounting workflows and define validation controls.
• Work closely with the CFO to maintain reporting standards and provide financial oversight.

What You Need

• Professionally qualified Chartered Accountant (CA Sri Lanka, CA ANZ, or equivalent).
• Strong working knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards.
• Hands-on experience using Xero for accounting and financial reporting.
• Proven experience reviewing financial records and reports across multiple client accounts or portfolios.
• Strong understanding of month-end close processes, reconciliations, journals, accruals, and balance sheet reviews.
• Ability to work independently, exercise sound financial judgment, and communicate effectively with excellent written English skills.
• Preferred experience in an accounting practice, outsourced finance function, or with platforms like MYOB, Dext, and ApprovalMax.

Work Arrangement

• Full-time remote role based in Colombo, with the flexibility to work from home or office.
