About the Role

Axiata Digital Labs is seeking a dedicated Finance Intern to support the finance team with daily accounting operations, reporting, and financial tasks.

What You Will Do

• Assist with day-to-day accounting and finance activities
• Handle accounts payable and receivable tasks, including invoice verification and payment follow-ups
• Monitor outstanding invoices and follow up on pending settlements
• Prepare and review journal entries and account reconciliations
• Maintain the general ledger ensuring accurate and timely transaction postings
• Support the preparation and maintenance of monthly and quarterly financial records and reports
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities
• Manage fixed asset accounting, including asset capitalization, depreciation, disposals, and asset tagging
• Maintain and update the fixed asset register and supporting documentation
• Maintain accurate finance documentation and filing in line with internal controls
• Prepare supporting schedules for audits, tax requirements, and internal reviews
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow-related activities
• Perform ad hoc finance-related duties as assigned

What You Need

• Following a professional qualification such as ACCA, CIMA, CA Sri Lanka (or equivalent) or holding a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
• Knowledge of accounting standards including SLFRS and IFRS
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• High attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
• Analytical and problem-solving skills
• Good communication skills, integrity, and accountability

Work Arrangement

• Internship position based in Colombo, Sri Lanka
