About the Role

An Australian software consultancy is seeking a skilled Python and Django developer with full-stack experience and a passion for AI-assisted software engineering. You will build and maintain web applications, client automations, and SaaS products using Python, Django, and Claude Code.

What You Will Do

Develop and maintain Python and Django applications, client automations, and SaaS product features based on agreed specifications and implementation plans.
Use Claude Code as a core part of the development workflow to generate code, tests, and documentation.
Write and execute automated tests using tools such as pytest and Playwright and ensure test suites pass before delivery.
Integrate applications with external systems including Xero, Microsoft 365, SharePoint, email platforms, and Stripe.
Maintain clear technical documentation, specifications, and handover notes for team collaboration.

What You Need

At least 3 years of professional full-stack development experience, including a minimum of two years working with Python and Django.
Strong understanding of Django fundamentals, PostgreSQL, and writing efficient database queries.
Regular, hands-on use of AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, or GitHub Copilot with the ability to review generated code critically.
Experience writing and maintaining automated tests with a commitment to test-driven quality practices.
Strong written English skills with the ability to prepare clear specifications, development plans, and client updates.
