About the Role

IFS is seeking a hands-on and curious AI & Automation Intern to join their Governance, Risk & Compliance team in Colombo, where you will explore how artificial intelligence, automation, and data analytics can transform risk management and audit processes.

What You Will Do

Prototype and test AI solutions, agents, and workflows using Microsoft Copilot and Claude for GRC use cases.
Identify repetitive GRC activities and build automated workflows using Power Automate, Copilot Studio, and related technologies.
Support AI-enabled internal audits, automated data analysis, and exception tracking across the audit lifecycle.
Develop continuous monitoring for risks, controls, KPIs, and KRIs alongside actionable Power BI dashboards.
Structure, clean, and validate data to support analytics, reporting, and AI experimentation.
Develop reusable test cases and evaluation criteria to compare AI model outputs and document findings.

What You Need

Currently studying toward a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Computer Science, Machine Learning, Software Engineering, Data Analytics, Business Analytics, Information Systems, or a relevant technical discipline.
Practical familiarity with Power BI, Microsoft Copilot, Claude, generative AI concepts, and data analytics/Excel.
Strong curiosity about AI, automation, and emerging technology with an experimental and solution-focused mindset.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with clear communication and a structured approach to documentation.
