About the Role

As an AI Developer, you will build and maintain web applications, client automations, and SaaS products using Python, Django, and modern AI coding tools. You will bridge traditional software engineering with AI-assisted workflows to deliver robust business solutions.

What You Will Do

• Develop and maintain Python and Django applications, SaaS features, and client automations based on project specifications
• Translate business requirements into clear technical specifications and step-by-step implementation plans prior to coding
• Utilise AI coding tools such as Claude Code to generate code, tests, and documentation efficiently
• Review, test, and refine all generated code critically to ensure accuracy, security, and high reliability
• Set up new projects using established application foundations and integrate reusable components and templates
• Build intuitive user interfaces using Django templates, Tailwind CSS, HTMX, and related frontend technologies
• Write and execute automated tests using pytest and Playwright, ensuring full test suites pass before delivery
• Integrate external systems such as Xero, Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Stripe, and email platforms
• Deploy applications to platforms like Render and Azure Container Apps and troubleshoot live environments
• Maintain thorough technical documentation, provide honest progress updates, and write clear handover notes

What You Need

• At least 3 years of professional full-stack development experience, with a minimum of 2 years working with Python and Django
• Strong command of Django fundamentals including ORM, models, migrations, views, forms, and templates
• Practical experience with PostgreSQL database queries, Redis, Celery, and background processing
• Regular hands-on familiarity with AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, or GitHub Copilot
• Proven ability to critically review AI-generated code, spot errors, and implement correct fixes
• Experience writing automated tests and commitment to test-driven quality practices
• Proficiency with Git, pull requests, code reviews, and secure coding principles
• Strong written English communication skills for preparing technical documentation and client updates

Work Arrangement

• Full-time remote position based out of Colombo, paid in Australian Dollars with medical insurance coverage including OPD care
