About the Role
Axiata Digital Labs is seeking a Global Data Privacy Manager on a contract basis to oversee regulatory compliance, privacy frameworks, and data protection initiatives across multiple jurisdictions including Sri Lanka, Malaysia, and Indonesia.
What You Will Do
- Ensure organization-wide compliance with the Sri Lanka Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA), Malaysian PDPA, and Indonesia's Personal Data Protection Law.
- Maintain and continuously improve the organization's Information Security Management System (ISMS) and Privacy Information Management System (PIMS) in line with ISO 27001 and ISO 27701 standards.
- Conduct Privacy by Design (PbD) assessments and Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) to identify and mitigate privacy risks.
- Manage concurrent privacy projects, enforce data privacy policies group-wide, and support internal and external audits.
- Handle data subject requests, privacy incidents, and breach response processes.
- Design and deliver data privacy awareness and training programs for staff across regions.
- Liaise with offshore teams, regulators, and business units to report compliance status and maintain consistent regional practices.
What You Need
- Strong analytical and risk-assessment mindset with high attention to detail and integrity in handling confidential information.
- Excellent project management and organizational skills to handle multiple projects simultaneously across different markets and time zones.
- Cross-cultural communication skills and regional sensitivity across Malaysia, Sri Lanka, and Indonesia.
- Proven ability to translate legal and regulatory requirements into practical, business-friendly processes.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills and the ability to deliver training to diverse audiences.
Work Arrangement
- Contract engagement based in Colombo, Sri Lanka.
